Musicians for a Smokefree TN is a coalition of musicians, songwriters, venues, and public health organizations that have come together with the goal of creating smokefree workplaces for all Tennessee musicians and hospitality workers. Over the last two years, our coalition shined a new spotlight on this problem, and successfully repealed preemption, giving municipalities across TN the ability to pass smokefree ordinances in 21+ establishments.

Smokefree Knoxville is a partnership with Metro Drug Coalition, bringing together Knoxville based public health organizations, hospitality workers, musicians, and venues to create smokefree workplaces for all Knoxvillians. Following the passage of SB2219 by Knoxville’s own Senator Richard Briggs and Representative Michele Carringer, Knoxville now has the ability to introduce it’s own smokefree ordinance, and we are excited to support that movement!

Musicians for a Smokefree Nashville is where this journey all began! Formed in 2020, our coalition of Nashville songwriters, artists, businesses, and public health organizations came together in hopes of creating smokefree workplaces for all Nashville musicians and hospitality workers. Nearly two years later, the Nashville City Council voted overwhelmingly to do just that, and on March 1st 2023, 50+ establishments will go smokefree, protecting the health of countless workers in Music City.
